NPC Deck and GM Screen Fulfilling!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Nov 20, 2021 at 12:51:21 AM

Greetings, delver—

Terrific news!

After a harrowing journey of thirteen weeks (a trip that normally takes just five), the Ptolus GM Screen and Ptolus NPC Deck are finally in our U.S. warehouse! We are now fulfilling both titles—if they’re among your rewards, check your email now for instructions on how to claim them!

(If you missed the email, don’t worry. You can find complete instructions for claiming your rewards here.)

Although it’s taken a lot longer to get these products to you than any of us would have liked, we weren’t sitting on our laurels while we waited! Coming up soon is The Runeblood Blessing, the second of the big new adventures you funded. Look for it in December, with Return of the Ebon Hand following not too far behind.

The Planebreaker Kickstarter Ends Today!

If you’ve been reading our recent updates, you already know about the Planebreaker Kickstarter. And, knowing how it takes your 5e or Cypher System to dozens of awesome new planes, gives you scores of new planar creatures to encounter, rolls out cool new character options, and includes some really impressive Kickstarter exclusives, you’ve probably already backed it.

But just in case you haven’t, here’s one last reminder: You don’t want to miss this one!

Thanks again for your support!

Doctrine of Ghul Fulfilled, Plus NPC Deck and GM Screen News
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 12, 2021 at 12:25:56 AM

Greetings, delver—

Doctrine of Ghul in PDF is now fulfilling! If this title is among your rewards, check your email for instructions on how to claim your copy of this hefty all-new Ptolus adventure!

(Didn’t get the email? No problem—you can find complete instructions for claiming your rewards here.)

We have some news about the GM Screen and NPC Deck as well, but first:

Venture into the Planes with Another Awesome MCG Book!

If you think Ptolus is pretty cool, we urge you not to miss the Planebreaker Kickstarter.

Think the planes are just for high-level characters? The Planebreaker opens the way to characters of all levels. You can even begin your campaign on the Planebreaker, with character species and subclasses from the Planebreaker itself and the many realities it has visited. Inkarnates, for example, are tied to another dimension of being. Unlike genasi and assimar, that connection isn’t to a specific extraplanar race, but rather to a particular concept, such as uncertainty, belief, or being. Inkarnate are winged, their wings literally formed by glyphs representing this concept—glyphs that power their special abilities.

Another example is the traveler, a character born of another species but somehow planetouched at birth. Travelers are marked by a fragment of a cosmic map, etched tattoo-like on their skin. This is a source of power, but also of an unending yearning to explore.

Characters of any species can adopt planar subclasses such as the Defacer wizard (who calls upon nightmares to gain terrible powers and an aberrant familiar); the Shadow Stitched rogue (who has traded their own shadow for that of an extraplanar creature); the Chaos Blade fighter (who wields a weapon drawn from elemental chaos); or the Cosmic Judge warlock (whose pact is made with the spirit of the multiverse itself!). You can check out the Shadow Stitched rogue, a complete subclass you can play right now, in the Planebreaker preview.

Path of the Planebreaker opens the full range of planar exploration to low-, mid-, and high-level characters. And it is on Kickstarter now!

NPC Deck and GM Screen Update

We’ve been keeping you up to date as the Ptolus GM Screen and Ptolus NPC Deck have made their torturous way to us. (Normally there wouldn’t be nearly this much drama to the process, but these are sadly not normal times.) Here’s the latest: As of yesterday, they are confirmed to have made it to Kansas City. Now it’s a matter of getting them on a truck and delivered from the freight depot to our U.S. warehouse.

How long will that take? They could roll into our warehouse tomorrow, or it could take another week. In either event, we’ll be ready to start fulfillment the day they arrive. Keep an eye out for another fulfillment email from us, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Thanks again for your support!

GM Screen, NPC Deck, and Doctine of Ghul—Coming Soon!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Nov 04, 2021 at 01:43:14 AM

Greetings, delver—

Back in August, we showed you the first-off-the-presses copies of the Ptolus NPC Deck and GM Screen. We had hoped to be shipping them to you before the end of September, but we were also wary of the international freight situation. You may have heard that record numbers of ships are anchored near southern California, waiting for the opportunity to offload their cargo at the big ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. The NPC Deck and GM Screen were among that cargo, stuck offshore for something like five weeks.

But good news: these titles are now on US soil and in the final leg of transit to our warehouse. The hardest part of the journey is behind them, and we expect to have them in about a week or so. We’ll begin fulfillment as soon as we can, so if these items are among your rewards, keep an eye on your inbox over the next couple of weeks!

Speaking of fulfillment, the first of the new adventures is headed your way soon as well. We expect to fulfill Doctrine of Ghul in PDF in early November. Runeblood Blessing is not too far behind it—look for it in December—with the third new adventure, Return of the Ebon Hand, following after that.

Journey into the Planes

Unboxing the GM Screen & NPC Deck Fresh Off the Presses
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Aug 14, 2021 at 10:33:00 PM

Greetings, delver—

We have something really cool to show you. But first!

Check Out Monte's Innovative, Zero-Prep RPG

Awesome RPG experiences are what we're all about here at MCG. With Ptolus, Monte redefined how an RPG book can be built to be incredibly easy to use and immersive, even at 672 pages. Monte is always pushing the envelope of game design, looking for ways to make games even easier, faster, and more fun.

Stealing Stories for the Devil is Monte's new game that takes an innovative new approach to player agency and narrative control, resulting in adventures with complex stories that come together beautifully, with zero GM prep.

Really: Zero prep; awesome adventures.

We've unlocked a lot of great stretch goals, making Stealing Stories for the Devil ever more awesome (especially the limited-edition deluxe version).

Stealing Stories for the Devil - Limited Deluxe Version (not final design—subject to change)

As if that's not enough, we've also unlocked The Devil's Dandy Dogs, an entirely new RPG by Shanna Germain. In this fun storygame, you play one of Old Scratch's devil dogs, tasked to collecting bartered souls while you also pursue your own goals and avoid your canine temptations. The Devil's Dandy Dogs is included when you pledge for the deluxe version of Stealing Stories for the Devil.

The Devil's Dandy Dogs (not final design—subject to change)

The Kickstarter ends today, and with it the chance to get the awesome, multiple-stretch-goal-enhanced limited-edition deluxe version. Check it out!

NPC Deck and GM Screen

And now:

You're looking at the first-off-the-presses copies of the Ptolus NPC Deck and GM Screen. The production run is complete and should be loaded onto trucks for transit within the next few days. Keep your fingers crossed, though—as we mentioned in our last update, international freight is a horror show these days. (Those first-offs were FedExed were to us, and even they were delayed by almost a week!) We've had good luck with the bookings so far, but nothing is certain until the product reaches our warehouses.

If things go to plan, we should have these in mid-September, and we'll begin fulfillment right away.

Ptolus Extras Packets

We’re now fulfilling the Ptolus Extras Packets for those of you who purchased copies through Backerkit (we’ll have a limited quantity for sale on the MCG Shop once fulfillment is complete). To redeem your reward, please go to the MCG Shop and log in to your account. From the account page, click Coupons (in the left-hand menu) and you will see all of your available redemption coupons (you won't see coupons for any rewards that are still in production). Click on a coupon to redeem it, or click on the Add All Product Coupons to Cart button to redeem all of your coupons.

Thanks again for your support!
